The Trail de l'Ecole Victor Hugo begins and ends at the Lycee Jacques Monod sports grounds, below the ramparts of Lescar. This semi-urban trail event in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques offers running and walking options. The primary timed race is Quasimodo, a 12.2 km run for those 16 and older. Walkers can complete the same distance earlier, unranked. Esmeralda is the 6.5 km route, available to walkers and runners aged 14 and up, also without classification.
The course follows roads and paths within the commune. Past events have featured a finish through Lescar's medieval city before returning to the area at the foot of the ramparts. Lescar Recre organizes the event, involving the Victor Hugo school community. The participants include not only adult trail runners but also walkers, teenagers, families, and young children. The Gavroche race offers a 500 m unranked run for kindergarten-age children, and a prize draw follows the adult races.
