O tomto preteku
The Descent je piatkový večerný 10K v West Yorkshire, so štartom pri Brow Bridge Cafe blízko vrchu Scammonden a cieľom dole v West Vale. Štart je o siedmej večer a preteky sú merané čipom, je to proste taká priamočiara cestná výzva na čas.
Trať klesá celou cestou od štartu do cieľa, pričom cieľ vo West Vale je viac ako 300 metrov nižšie ako štart. Je dobre značená a otvorená pre široké spektrum bežcov, od skúsených pretekárov, ktorí si chcú dať rýchly zbehový 10K, až po tých, čo idú pretekať prvýkrát a chcú jasnú trať s jedným jednoduchým sľubom: "žiadne stúpanie, len dlhý zbeh dole."
