O tomto preteku
The Monster Triathlon begins with a 5km swim in Loch Ness, then sends athletes south through the UK for seven days of swim, bike, and run. This long multi-sport race takes place in June, with the main route covering 550 miles and the full challenge extending to 1,055km. Most of the week is spent on the bike, featuring five riding days before the race concludes with a 50k ultra-marathon into London.
The route travels from the Scottish Highlands to the capital, presenting varied terrain: mountain passes early on, the lakes of the Lake District, villages through the Midlands, and the rolling Chiltern hills before the final run. The appeal lies in the scale of the undertaking as much as any single stage: a cold open-water swim, several days of riding, and then an ultra when fatigue would typically end the effort.
