Panetoliko Mountain Trail Run 2026

The Panetoliko Mountain Trail Run takes participants up Panaitoliko Mountain in Parakampylia, near Agrinio. Three morning races are offered: a 21 km trail race from Pentakorfos to Agios Vlasios, an 8 km route starting and ending in Agios Vlasios, and a free 1 km run also in Agios Vlasios. This event welcomes both seasoned trail runners and newcomers to mountain running, with the short race fostering a more inclusive, local atmosphere. The longer route connects village surroundings with the mountain. The 8 km course includes approximately 350 m of elevation gain and loss, with a three-hour time limit. Organizers depict the mountain as featuring fir-covered slopes, streams with plane trees and wild water, alpine summits, waterfalls, rocky peaks, and ancient village paths. Now in its third edition, the event retains a developing local character rather than the feel of a large, established race.
