Ironman Emilia-Romagna is a full-distance triathlon held in Cervia, a coastal town in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region near Ravenna. Taking place in mid-September as part of the Ironman series, it consists of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon, totaling 226 km.
The course transitions from the Adriatic coast into Cervia’s streets and surrounding natural areas. The race weekend also includes Ironman 70.3 Emilia-Romagna. The 70.3 race, which started in 2019, features rolling countryside and parts of the historic downtown. The full Ironman attracts athletes who must carefully manage pace, nutrition, and endurance throughout a long day. Aid stations and changing facilities are available.
