The LOVE Tohoku Run! Onion Relay Marathon is a team relay event taking place in June at Sennen Kibo no Oka Aino Gama Park in Iwanuma, Miyagi. Participants can form teams for a full marathon relay, half marathon relay, or 10 km relay, all with a shared time limit of 4 hours 30 minutes. Full and half marathon teams require 3 to 15 runners, and 10 km teams need 2 to 10 runners. This marks the event's eighth year, with an entry fee of 4,000 yen per participant. The race starts from the park’s multipurpose plaza, which also serves as the registration area. Teams have the option to compete for specific times and rankings or to enjoy a more casual group run; modern timing systems are employed for all participants. Available divisions include men's, women's, mixed, and workplace teams, with the 10 km relay having a single overall category. A unique feature of this relay marathon is the onion aid station, a well-known local element.
