O tomto preteku
The Midzomernacht Halve Marathon begins at 9 PM from the Waalkade in Zaltbommel, on the longest day of the year. This 21.10-kilometer half marathon is organized by Zaltbommel Dutch Runners, with the start and finish situated next to the Waal river. The field is limited to approximately 300 runners and is affiliated with the Atletiekunie. Participants can run solo or form a two-person relay, with each runner completing slightly more than 10 kilometers.
The course follows the dikes of the Bommelerwaard, heading from Zaltbommel towards a turnaround point just beyond Rossum, and then returning along the same path to the Waalkade. It is a riverside route through Dutch river country, not a city circuit. The late start means the finish will occur in twilight, with the first runners typically expected back around 10:15 PM. The finish area on the Waalkade is illuminated by candlelight, and a prize ceremony and post-race refreshments follow.
