Bergen Vintermaraton is a January road race held in Bergen, Norway, starting and finishing at Fana Stadion. Participants can select a half marathon (21.097 km via one loop) or a full marathon (42.195 km via two loops of the same course). The marathon begins before the half marathon. Race-number pickup, gear check, and an awards ceremony all take place on race day.
The course is an out-and-back loop on asphalt roads with minimal traffic, largely following an old railway line through a rural setting. A hill near Fana Stadion is encountered by runners from both directions; the remainder of the course is rolling and generally runnable. This race is part of the Bergen Maratonkarusell, a six-race series in Bergen that awards a plaque to runners completing five events. Organizers also highlight Bergen’s established marathon culture, referring to it as Norway’s top marathon city.
