Skagerrakmila begins and ends in central Arendal, with the main race starting at 7:30 PM. IK Grane Arendal Friidrett is the organizer, and the program also features a children’s race for participants up to 12 years old earlier in the day. The race takes place on a June evening, and for many local runners and spectators, it coincides with the start of summer vacation.
The course travels through central Arendal, extending to nearby areas east and west of the city center before returning to the finish. Pollen offers the best viewing, as spectators can observe the field at the start, around the halfway point, and again as runners approach the finish line. People watch from the streets and from outdoor seating along the route, contributing to a relaxed city-evening atmosphere. The event has a long local tradition, with over thirty editions held.
