The Bronek Run is named for Bronisław “Bronek” Malinowski, a steeplechaser from Grudziądz who won Universiade gold in the 3000 m steeplechase with an 8:22.32 run. The main series has reached 44 editions in Grudziądz, and its Forest Edition is a spring race offering 10 km, 5 km, and 5 km Nordic Walking options. Grudziądzki Klub Sportowy Olimpia organizes the event, which includes chip timing, net results, finisher medals, and limited entry numbers.
The Forest Edition follows paths in the Municipal Forest, starting and finishing at the parking lot near Rondo Popiełuszki. The route is a single loop, marked every kilometer, featuring roots underfoot and a refreshment point at 5 km for 10 km runners. Time limits are strict: 45 minutes for 5 km, 90 minutes for 10 km, and 60 minutes for Nordic Walking. The field includes local club runners, walkers, and faster racers; recent front-end results show a 31:53 winning time for 10 km and a 17:31 winning time for 5 km. The race also highlights Malinowski’s story, with medal artwork inspired by the Universiade logo and start materials carrying a historical accent.
