Wzgórzowa 13

Wzgórzowa 13 is a 13 km cross-country nature run in Chrząszczyce, near Opole in the Prószków municipality. It takes place in October, starting at 1:13 PM, with the number 13 incorporated into its name and schedule. The event is for runners seeking trails, forest paths, climbs, mud, and uneven ground over flat asphalt. A relay category is also available, allowing teams to cover the 13 km distance together. The route connects Chrząszczyce, Domecko, Opole-Winów, and Górki via municipal roads and a military training ground. It presents technical challenges with steep ascents and descents, puddles, and muddy sections, all considered part of the challenge. Approximately 200 participants have joined recent editions, organized by Stowarzyszenie Bieg Opolski with support from the Prószków municipality. Runners can preview the course from September. The event also features a family cross-country orienteering activity and a village tradition of a campfire, homemade cake, or pea soup. Entry fees benefit local residents of Chrząszczyce, reinforcing the race's connection to the community.
