The Coronado Trail is a running event in São Romão do Coronado, Trofa, near Porto, held in early April. Organized by Associação Coronado Runners and the Municipality of Trofa, the event offers participants three distances: a 31 km Trail, a 21 km Trail Sprint, and a 13 km Trail Jovem/Mini. An 8 km walk is also available, extending the day beyond competitive running.
The trail races commence and conclude at Quinta de São Romão, serving as the event hub. The courses traverse natural trails and rural paths surrounding Trofa, featuring dense vegetation and riverside segments requiring careful footing over raw speed. The walk begins at the São Gonçalo chapel in Covelas and ends at Quinta de São Romão. The event focuses on sport, the local natural environment, and showcasing the Coronado region, with course lengths catering to various skill levels.
