Miestni behajú popri jazere, keď chcú dať stabilné Z2 a nadýchať sa čerstvého vzduchu. Pere Marquette Beach a Muskegon Lake ti k tomu udávajú rytmus. Run Muskegon sa stretáva každú stredu v Pigeon Hill Brewing Company. O 18:20 sú oznamy a o 18:30 sa už beží, klusá alebo prechádza. Noví bežci by mali prísť do 18:15 kvôli waiveru. Vítané sú všetky tempá. Trasa popri jazere má 72 km a nastúpaš na nej +103 m. Trinity Health Seaway Run, Run For Wings 5K, Shamrock Shuffle 5k a Turkey Trot 5k ti držia bežecký kalendár plný.

Na Norton Shores sa jazdí taká jednoduchá pobrežná zmeska – base miles, krátky gravel a rýchle rovinky. Norton Shores má 20 značených cyklotrás s celkovou dĺžkou 285 km, takže si tu nájdeš niečo na weekday spins aj na víkendové gran fondo. Najkratšia trasa má 2 mi, len tak na rozjazdenie. Tá najkratšia meria 7 km, s 44 m stúpania a 43 m klesania. Kopce sú tam, kde sa ukáže prevýšenie – Trial + Hill, Pigeon Hill a W Mt Garfield Rd ti dajú zabrať.

Jún, júl, august a september sú taký čistý blok na oba športy. V lete sa tu behá po pláži, zbierajú sa kilometre popri jazere, a sú tu aj Arts and Dash 5K a Foreshore Adventure Run na Pere Marquette Beach. Cyklisti využívajú dlhšie trasy v Norton Shores na Z2 a keď ich omrzí asfalt, idú na Martin Road alebo Wood Rd, kde je gravel. Zima mení oblečenie, ale nie zvyk. Ja osobne mám radšej zimu ako extrémne horúčavy, a Run Muskegon drží tempo aj v marci a na Deň vďakyvzdania so Shamrock Shuffle 5k a Turkey Trot 5k.
