The Be the Light 5K is a family-friendly 5K held at McKinney Falls State Park each November, organized by Austin Lighthouse. This race supports Texans with visual impairments, using the simple invitation: “Walk with purpose.”
Austin Lighthouse has a 90-year history of helping Texans with visual impairments build skills, careers, and independence. The park setting makes the race approachable for walkers, families, and casual runners, and the “Be the Light” slogan connects the morning directly to the organization’s mission.
