Beaufort Bridge Run 5K & 1+ Mile Dog Strut

The Beaufort Bridge Run combines a 5K with a 1-plus-mile Dog Strut in Beaufort, North Carolina. Runners, walkers, and dogs participate in a fall fundraising event organized by the Beaufort Lions Club. It begins on Turner Street in the morning, sending participants over the town’s two bridges. This course offers a unique perspective, resembling a short tour above the water and the historic waterfront rather than a typical neighborhood 5K. The course is the main draw, being the only event that utilizes both the high-rise Gallants Channel (Grayden Paul) Bridge and the Turner Street Bridge. The participants range from competitive and casual runners to first-timers, families, kids, and those walking the Dog Strut with their pets. The Lions Club has hosted local fundraising races for twenty years, with past events including the Glow Run and the Front Street Gallop. The Beaufort Bridge Run now attracts participants from eastern North Carolina and further afield for a small-town race focused on charitable causes.
