The CleftStrong 5K and Kids 1K is a volunteer-run fundraiser in San Antonio, featuring an in-person 5K and a 1K run for children ages 4 to 12. The races are based at Dwight D. Eisenhower Park. The kids’ run starts before the 5K, and runners can enter either competitively or non-competitively. A virtual option allows people to support the event from afar.
The route follows the Leon Creek Greenway, beginning near the Eisenhower Park area on NW Military Highway. This race is the primary fundraiser for CleftStrong, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to cleft lip, cleft palate, and other craniofacial conditions. Proceeds benefit the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association’s patient care and research efforts. Sponsors, donors, and an all-volunteer team ensure the event continues annually.
