O tomto preteku
The El Diablo Hundo guides trail runners through a 10-mile loop at Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, Louisiana, offering distances from 25K to 100 miles. This early-October event, held on the lake’s western shore, features a straightforward format: runners complete the marked loop repeatedly according to their chosen distance. The loop connects the Blue Wing, Koasati, and Whoa Mule trails, ensuring that even the most demanding races benefit from a consistent support location.
The course consists mainly of flat state-park terrain, challenging runners with mud, exposed roots, and natural surfaces beneath hardwood, cypress, and tupelo trees. Aid is provided at a staffed Start/Finish station offering hot food and trail snacks, supplemented by an unmanned stop near mile 5 with water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes. The park’s amenities, including campsites, cabins, boat launches, picnic areas, fishing, hiking and biking trails, and a nearby 11-mile canoe trail, allow for convenient on-site accommodation. Participants completing longer distances will receive buckles and awards, and race-day meals will feature hot, cold, and vegan choices.
