Fiesta 5K

The Fiesta 5K is a Cinco de Mayo 5K held at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland, Indiana. It is co-hosted by Tempo Run Timing & Events and the North Township Trustee’s Office. This is a professionally timed run and walk, with results available online. The event also emphasizes a festive atmosphere: DJ Ricky performs before the race, every participant receives a race shirt and custom koozie, and each bib includes pull tabs for item redemptions and raffles. Following the run, participants receive pork tacos with accompaniments, and those 21 and older get one beer or an alternative beverage, provided by Dining Solutions by Wicker Park. Friends and family may purchase food from the line. The finish area functions as a community fiesta rather than a simple awards display. The competitive aspect is also addressed, with Fleet Feet Schererville gift cards awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, and age-group awards are given for categories from 14 and under up to 70+.
