Gopher to Badger is a Run Stillwater race series in the St. Croix Valley, featuring a half marathon, 10K, and 5K along the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. It takes place in August. The half marathon begins early in the morning. The race name reflects the state rivalry between Minnesota's Gophers and Wisconsin's Badgers.
The typical point-to-point course starts near Stillwater, Minnesota, crosses the St. Croix River via the I-94 bridge walkway, and concludes in Hudson, Wisconsin. If construction closes that bridge crossing, the event utilizes certified loop courses starting and finishing at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo, with all distances beginning within the grounds and sharing a single finish line.
