Ignite Trail Marathon

The Ignite Trail Marathon is a December trail race at Chain O'Lakes State Park in Albion, Indiana, offering both marathon and half marathon distances. Both races begin in the morning and share an eight-hour time limit, designed for trail runners who prefer a full day on the course over a strict road-race cutoff. The course consists of a 13.1-mile loop; half marathoners complete it once, and marathoners complete it twice. The route is primarily on trails with a brief road segment. Runners will encounter three aid stations per loop. Local cross-country teams staff these stations, raising funds for their teams, and the Ignite Trail Series values its volunteer staff. The marathon has previously served as the RRCA Indiana State Championship Race.
