O tomto preteku
Live Oak Odyssey is a fixed-time trail race at O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon, California, with three-hour, six-hour, and eight-hour options. Instead of chasing a set distance, runners repeat an approximately 2.75-mile loop and try to complete as many full laps as they can before their clock runs out. Each loop gains about 500 feet, so the race adds up quickly even though the lap is short.
The course runs through Trabuco and Live Oak Canyons on wooded trails lined with coast live oak and sycamore trees, with cactus, wild buckwheat, sagebrush, and chaparral on the surrounding hillsides. The loop mixes climbs, descents, single-track, and double-track, and runners follow pink ribbons back to the start/finish aid station each lap. That aid station is the main support point, with snacks, PB&J, fruit, potatoes, soda, salt capsules, Tailwind hydration, and a nearby drop-bag tent. Crews can help from their vehicles near the aid station, but pacers and pets are not allowed, and only completed loops count.
