The Luck of the Irish Triathlon, Run-Bike-Run, & 5K is a March multisport race held at the Lewisville ISD Aquatic Center in The Colony, Texas. The event offers several options for varying abilities: a Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon Relay, Super Sprint, Run-Bike-Run duathlon, Run-Bike-Run Relay, 5K, and a virtual option. The main races begin early, with the Sprint Triathlon, Run-Bike-Run, and 5K starting at 7am CDT, and the Super Sprint at 8am CDT. As a USAT sanctioned event with a USAT Certified Race Director, standard triathlon rules and one-day license requirements are in effect.
The Sprint Triathlon includes a 300-meter swim in a 50-meter indoor pool, followed by a two-loop bike course and a 5K run. The Super Sprint features a 200-meter pool swim, one bike loop, and a 2-mile run, making it suitable for less experienced triathletes. The Run-Bike-Run replaces the swim with a 1-mile run, then proceeds to the same two-loop bike course and a 5K finish. Relays allow teams to divide the multisport distances, and the standalone 5K is for participants who wish to compete on race morning without cycling or swimming.
