The Meatball Run begins and ends at St Paul's in Summerville, South Carolina. It features a USATF-certified 5K course through the town's historic district. The Summerville Italian Feast hosts the event, which offers a 5K, a 1-mile Fun Run/walk, a virtual option, and a speedwalking 5K, accommodating runners, walkers, and remote participants.
The 5K starts in the morning and is designed as a community race, not exclusively for elite athletes. Proceeds benefit the Dorchester District II Educational Foundation, supporting STEAM programs. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, along with a team award for the largest group. Registered 5K runners get a shirt and medal; 1-mile Fun Run participants receive a medal. This is the race's fourth year.
