O tomto preteku
This is Stop 14 of the Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 series, a 6.6K run/walk through Divernon, Illinois. The event starts at one of the most beautifully restored Route 66 gas stations in the state, capturing the vintage charm and small-town pride of the Mother Road. The restored station, with its classic pumps and signage, serves as the backdrop for the event. The series is held in solidarity with Enric Casacuberta, who is running the entire Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo to honor those living with ALS. Participants can join Enric for a 2.1-mile shared run, a symbolic 'sidekick' segment. The Divernon event is a heartfelt meet-up point where history meets purpose. Event highlights include the 6.6K Route 66 Course starting at the historic gas station, the option to Run With Enric for the 2.1-mile segment, experiencing Vintage Americana, embracing the Sidekick Spirit honoring ALS supporters, and enjoying the Community-Driven atmosphere open to all paces and ages. Participants earn a Stop 14 badge. The 6.6K distance symbolizes the 2,400-mile journey of Route 66 and the long road families face with ALS. The event aims to support Enric's journey, raise ALS awareness, and strengthen a statewide movement.
