Wyoming K-5 Cross Country Elementary School Championships 2026

The Wyoming K-5 Cross Country Elementary School Championships is a youth cross country meet at Scout Park in Laramie, Wyoming, for elementary students from across the Rocky Mountain region. Races are split by grade: K-1 run 1K, grades 2-3 run 2K, and grades 4-5 run 3K. A Community 3K follows the elementary races, giving families and local runners a way to participate. The Laramie Valley Jackalopes cross country team hosts the event, with proceeds supporting the team. The course is marked and staffed with marshals, important for young runners. Awards are extensive for a school meet: boys and girls in each elementary race receive ribbons for first through fifth place, every finisher gets a ribbon, and the winning school in each race earns a traveling team trophy. School scoring combines boys and girls, and every elementary runner counts for their school team without separate registration. The meet is paired with the Wyoming Middle School State Championships, connecting elementary runners with the next level of school racing.
