Yippee-Ki-Yay Races

The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races take place in Council Bluffs, Iowa, offering 50K, half marathon, and 10K distances along the Wabash Trace Nature Trail. All three races commence and conclude at Iowa West Foundation Trail Head Park, structuring the event around a single starting point instead of a point-to-point course. The 50K is designed for runners seeking their first ultra-marathon or a swift trail run, with organizers noting it as one of Iowa's quickest 50K courses. The course follows a rails-to-trails path, utilizing a former rail corridor. The half marathon provides views of the countryside through the Heartland and has quickly become a popular choice within the event. This series is in its second year, and participation is capped. Post-race, participants receive food at the finish area.
