The Birdsville Races Fun Run is a 5.25 km run and walk in Birdsville, Queensland, held during the Birdsville Races weekend. It starts and finishes at the Birdsville Tourist Park, making it a short community race connected to a major Australian outback race meeting, not a separate road event. Walkers, casual runners, and experienced runners are welcome, and all participants receive a souvenir bib.
The wider race weekend draws over 6,000 people to the small desert town annually for a 13-race horse program, including the TAB Birdsville Cup, with participants traveling from across Australia. The fun run supports a charity: participants can fundraise for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The weekend also features elements that distinguish it from typical sporting events: Fashions on the Field, Fred Brophy’s Boxing Troupe, live music, food vendors, a large auction, the RFDS Gala, and Roadies memberships for those driving from around the country.
