The NSW Long Walks are race-walking championships for state titles, featuring junior races from 1K to 5K and longer events over 8K, 15K, and 20K. The meet is scheduled for July in New South Wales, with the venue yet to be confirmed; some listings suggest Sydney and Angle Park at Chipping Norton, the NSW Race Walking Club's winter competition base. It is conducted under World Athletics, World Para Athletics, and Athletics Australia rules, making it formal race walking.
The participants range from children to older masters, with eligibility listed from age nine and another event notice indicating athletes from eight to over eighty are welcome. Club athletes compete in registered uniforms, and NSW Race Walking Club members wear the sky-blue top and plain black shorts. Competitors can pursue state titles and points for the NSW Distance Walker of the Year Awards, while country-athlete pricing and rolling club registration support the winter program. Athletes require current ANSW or LANSW registration before joining the NSW Race Walking Club.
