Om detta lopp
The Varberg Half Marathon begins and ends at Träslövsvägen 142B in Varberg, Sweden. Race packs can be collected the afternoon before or on race morning. The primary event is a certified half marathon covering 21,097.5 meters. A certified 11.5 km option is also available, sharing the same start and finish at the competition center. This event welcomes beginners, with participant numbers typically between 1,000 and 4,999, offering a balance between a small local race and a large city event.
The course features paved footpaths, cycleways, gravel exercise tracks, and brief sections on quiet streets. It winds through residential areas, parks, and urban forests, specifically Påskbergsskogen, Furubergsskogen, Brunnsbergsskogen, and Håstensskogen. A coastal section follows, passing Apelviken, Subbe lighthouse, and Kusthotellet. The ascent of Hästhagaberget provides the course's main challenge, with a rolling profile overall instead of being flat. The entry fee provides a finisher medal, a single-use timing chip, race photos, aid stations with drinks and nutrition, medical support, bag drop, lockers, toilets, showers, and changing facilities. Participants also have the option to change their registered distance after purchase.
