Firmenlauf-Gütersloh is an after-work company run in Gütersloh, with the start and finish located in front of the theater on Theaterplatz. It is designed for workplace teams rather than solely fast runners, offering 2.5 km and 5 km options, with the shorter distance also allowing for walking. Recent editions have attracted between 1,500 to 1,800 registered participants; one record edition saw 91 teams and 1,770 entries for the two race distances. Including the connected Night Cup Series, approximately 2,000 runners participated in the city center.
The route is a compact loop: participants depart the theater area, pass through the Dalkeaue and along the edge of the pedestrian zone, then return to the theater. The loop is completed once or twice, depending on the distance, which allows spectators and colleagues near the finish to see the field. Major local employers participate actively; Miele once fielded the largest team with 180 finishers, and the Navigator Group had over 50 colleagues running in distinctive company shirts. The event was previously known as the AOK-Firmenlauf, and its past editions have encountered varied weather conditions, from persistent cool rain to temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius with strong winds that necessitated the dismantling of a tent.
