Corrida do Círio is a street race in Pará associated with TV Liberal, with its primary race weekend held at Portal da Amazônia. The event provides 5 km and 10 km distances, allowing new participants to join without committing to a longer run, while still offering a challenging race for experienced runners. This year is the race’s 41st running and coincides with TV Liberal’s 50th anniversary.
Organizers characterize it as the Amazon’s largest and most traditional road race, intended for community runners rather than exclusively elite club athletes. The course design is straightforward: participants select either the 5K or 10K route, beginning and concluding at the same location. The race also features specific categories, revised minimum age requirements, capped participation, and a distinct emphasis on encouraging collective physical activity.
