The Neckarsteiglauf 126K is a new trail ultramarathon based in Heidelberg, scheduled for a Friday-to-Saturday running window in September. The main race covers 126 kilometres from Heidelberg to Bad Wimpfen, including approximately 4,300 metres of elevation gain. A shorter 50-kilometre option features roughly 2,000 metres of climbing.
The route utilizes the officially signposted Neckarsteig, an established long-distance trail, instead of a custom city loop. This event marks the first Neckarsteiglauf, with complete race information and registration details forthcoming. It is presented as a new point-to-point trail project rather than an event with established traditions.
