Monton 5 miler 2026

The Monton 5 Miler, known as the Monton Smiler, is a five-mile road race held in Monton, Greater Manchester, on the late-summer Bank Holiday Monday. The race takes place on closed roads around Ellesmere Park, beginning in the morning, with a 500-runner capacity. Open to participants aged 15 and older, the event features chip timing and is based at Monton Sports Club. The course is a flat, two-lap circuit with fast sections along the Swinton Greenway near Eccles College. This layout appeals to runners aiming for a fast five-mile time and local club members seeking a straightforward road race. It is UKA licensed and measured, with no on-the-day entries.
