Cross Villamonte 2026

Cross Villamonte is a 5 km neighborhood running race in Algorta, Getxo, Bizkaia, typically held in November as part of the San Martin festivals. The start line is at Ikastola San Nikolas. This event is a popular, low-cost race, not exclusively for elite runners, with separate pricing for school, cadet, and adult entries. The main 5 km race consists of four large laps. Younger age groups compete on shorter courses: Sub 16 and Sub 18 run two laps, Sub 14 completes one lap, Sub 10 and Sub 12 circle the block, and the youngest children run from Francista Labroche to the Ikastola. Bib pickup and the cloakroom are located in the Ikastola courtyard. Schoolchildren up to Sub 14 receive a small gift, and medals are awarded to the top three boys and girls across various age categories. With over fifty editions completed, the race is a well-established local tradition.
