Extreme Bardenas is a mountain bike race in southern Navarre, covering approximately 100 kilometres through the Bardenas Reales.
Entry is limited to 1,500 cyclists, making it a large mass-participation MTB event. The race begins in the Arguedas area and also goes through Valtierra, immediately placing riders in the arid, open landscape that defines the event. The route crosses the Bardenas Reales desert, a Biosphere Reserve known locally as Europe’s first desert. High temperatures are a significant factor, with race-day conditions often feeling intense, requiring considerable physical preparation. Club Ciclista Arguedano organizes the event. Participants receive a souvenir gift, and trophies are given to finishers, reflecting the race's ethos: for many, the goal is completion rather than victory.
