Sykourio Trail is a mountain running event held on Mount Kissavos, originating from Sykourio in the Tempi Municipality, near Larissa. It takes place on a Sunday in June and features two distances: a challenging 21 km race with 1,200 m elevation gain, and an 11 km race with 480 m elevation gain. The local organizing committee collaborates with the Municipality of Tempi and the Sykourio merchants and craftsmen association for its execution.
The 11 km route begins and ends at Riga Feraiou Square in Sykourio, following a circuit of trails, dirt roads, and asphalt sections on Kissavos. It is characterized as moderate, with gradual inclines, and provides aid at the 5 km mark and the finish. The 21 km race presents a greater challenge, featuring equal descent to ascent, a five-hour time limit, and no designated aid stations, requiring participants to approach it as a self-supported mountain run.
