Über dieses Rennen
The Takuboku no Sato Fureai Marathon takes place in Morioka's Tamayama area, the home region of poet Takuboku Ishikawa. This community road race offers three distances: 3 km, 10 km, and a half marathon, divided into 27 divisions. Approximately 1,500 runners participate annually. The event was rescheduled from early September to late September or later to mitigate heat exposure.
The course provides a distinct sense of location: Mt. Himekami, a mountain Takuboku cherished, is visible to the east, while Mt. Iwate, also known as Nanbu Kat Fuji, stands to the west. The route crosses Tamayama amidst autumn foliage, and all participants receive a T-shirt featuring a Takuboku logo. A long-standing sports exchange connects the marathon with the Ayahashi Sea Road Race in Uruma, Okinawa; top Morioka half marathon finishers are sent to Uruma, and in turn, leading Uruma runners compete in this race.
