The Yatsugatake Kogen Half Marathon is a highland road race held on the Yatsugatake Kogen Line at the southern foot of Mount Yatsugatake in Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture, during early autumn. The main event is a JAAF-certified half marathon beginning at 9:00 from Kiyosato no Mori, with a 3-hour time limit and a capacity of 1,000 participants. The program also features 10 km, 5 km, and a 1 km parent-child run, making the day suitable for more than just half-marathon specialists.
The half marathon commences and concludes at Kiyosato no Mori, tracing the Yatsugatake Kogen Line before turning back prior to the Koarama intersection. Participants are treated to views of mountain ranges along the plateau road, with eight aid stations positioned throughout the course, including the start-finish area. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each age and gender category, along with additional prizes for the first and second halves of the half marathon field. The race is organized by a local executive committee comprising Hokuto tourism, athletics, sports, commerce, and traffic-safety organizations, and it was revived as a refreshed event following a previous iteration of the race.
