Über dieses Rennen
PSS Imperial Palace Health Running is a low-cost summer running event around the Imperial Palace in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, offering 5 km, 10 km, 20 km, and 20 km relay options. Organized by PSS Inc., it welcomes beginners and experienced runners, typically drawing 100 to 499 participants. Individual entry is 1,000 JPY, the relay costs 4,000 JPY, and timing is done manually with a stopwatch and printer. The event is canceled for rain, snow, or major social disruptions; canceled entries are deferred indefinitely.
The race follows the Imperial Palace loop, starting and finishing near the Sakuradamon clock tower. The 20 km race is four laps, with the fourth lap needing to start by 10:15 AM; 10 km runners must pass 5 km by the same time. The organizer refers to it as “Japan’s most relaxed race,” with rules allowing late arrivals, same-day entry, distance changes on race day, and recording of distances covered if a runner stops early. It is reviewed as useful marathon training, particularly for those seeking an inexpensive, organized method for pace runs or long runs without running solo.
