The Tempo Cabrio Klimklassieker begins in Soest, Utrecht, with participants departing directly from the stage of Openluchttheater Cabrio. This spring cycling event focuses on the short ascents in and around Soest, offering routes for both strong tour cyclists and those seeking a more relaxed recreational ride. The longer routes, guided by GPX, cover 100 to 135 kilometers, while the recreational option spans 50 kilometers and is marked with directional arrows.
The route crosses the wooded, undulating landscape of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, incorporating many of the local climbs near Soest. The mountain bike variant presents a demanding challenge, featuring approximately 1,200 meters of elevation gain and roughly 75% off-road terrain. This event is a joint effort between Cabrio and Tempo Soest, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Cabrio open-air theater and honoring Tempo Soest’s Klimmetjestocht tradition. Following the ride, participants are invited to a barbecue, making the day a club-style cycling gathering for enthusiasts and recreational riders, rather than solely a timed effort or training session.
