Haunted 5K, 10K, & 13.1M at Temple, October 3
Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Waco
SO OKT 11
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Waco takes place in Waco, Texas, incorporating Día de los Muertos colors, music, and traditions. Participants can select from the Kids Dash, 1 Mile, 5K, Quarter Marathon, or Half Marathon, accommodating families, casual runners, and those targeting the full 13.1 miles. The course begins in a decorated park and proceeds through parks, greenbelt trails, lakefronts, and tree-lined sections near Waco. The terrain includes paved paths, crushed granite, and some light dirt, with aid stations provided. Prior to the race, a costume contest will recognize the most colorful and expressive attire. Following the race, a rally tent will offer music, Mexican food and beverages, awards, and Bigfoot trophies for top finishers.
Inks Lake Trail Run/Ruck
SA OKT 17
The Inks Lake Trail Run/Ruck is an off-road event held in mid-October at 3630 Park Road 4 West in Burnet, Texas. The event utilizes local park trails, offering participants multiple distances on dirt: 50K, marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, a half-marathon ruck, and a 1-mile youth trail run for children 12 and under. The event is designed to accommodate various trail participants, not just a single group. Ultra runners, marathoners, shorter-distance runners, ruckers carrying weight, and young children each have separate starts, with staggered start times based on distance. All participants receive event merchandise, though the deadline for guaranteed shirts is before race day, meaning late registrants may not receive one.
Spooky Sprint-Austin
SA OKT 17
Spooky Sprint-Austin is a Halloween-themed running event in Austin, held in October. It offers a half marathon, 10K, 5K, 1 mile, kids dash, virtual race, and a volunteer-then-run entry. The event is designed for families and casual groups alongside competitive runners: the 5K, 10K, and half marathon are chip-timed with live results and awards, while the 1 mile and kids dash are untimed. The event provides finishers with race swag, including custom bibs, designer shirts, and medals for the main distances. The kids dash includes a mini bib, youth shirt, and a child-specific medal. Children 10 and under can participate in the kids dash for free if they forgo the swag. The 5K and 10K also have reduced pricing for participants 12 and under. Finish-line treats, free participant photos, and a virtual option contribute to the race's playful atmosphere, even for timed runners who receive results and awards.
Fields of Gold 50K • Marathon • Half Marathon • 12 Hour • 1 Hour • 10K • 5K
SA OKT 24
Fields of Gold Trail Run takes place in the fall at Shaffer Bend Recreation Area in Marble Falls, Texas, within the Texas Hill Country. The series offers runners a wide selection of distances: 50K, marathon, half marathon, a 12-hour endurance challenge, a 1-hour Gold Hour challenge, 10K, and 5K. The course is designed with dirt and park terrain, featuring rolling hills, meadow trails, lakeside paths, golden grasslands, wooded valleys, and overlooks across the bend area. The longer races cover the most varied terrain. The half marathon is presented as challenging yet accessible for runners not aiming for an ultra distance. The 12-hour event focuses on total miles accumulated rather than a set finish time, with aid stations and support available throughout the day. The 1-hour race applies the same endurance concept in a condensed format. The 5K Harvest Fun Run serves as the family-friendly option, winding through the meadows. The event also supports HKRS Cedar Park Youth Running Programs, connecting race day activities with local youth running initiatives.
Mustang Marathon (Hill Country Trivium) Road Race
SO NOV 8
The Mustang Marathon is a road race series held at Mustang Stadium, located at Marble Falls High School in Marble Falls, Texas, within the Hill Country northwest of Austin. The event features a range of distances: 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, 50K, and a youth mile. This variety accommodates local families, shorter-distance runners, marathoners, and ultrarunners on the same race day. Previously known as the Hill Country Trivium, it is the sole road race organized by Perspective Pacing. The course is paved and follows an out-and-back route on country roads, with rolling hills and challenging climbs rather than a flat city loop. All distances begin and conclude at Mustang Stadium, simplifying the race hub despite the varying runner distances. Awards are determined by gun time, though chip times are also provided, offering a competitive element for runners at the start. A local tradition concludes the race: participants receive a coupon for a complimentary slice of pie from Marble Falls’ Bluebonnet Cafe.
Turkey Trails- Austin
SA NOV 21
Turkey Trails-Houston is an annual Thanksgiving-themed running event in Houston featuring a half marathon, 10K, 5K, an untimed 1-mile run, and a kids' dash for children 10 and under. It is designed for families and regular runners alike, offering youth pricing for the 5K and 10K and a virtual option for those who wish to run elsewhere while still receiving event merchandise. The timed races include chip timing with live results and awards. The 1-mile run and kids' dash are more relaxed. Most registrations come with a custom bib, designer shirt, and finisher medal. The kids' dash also includes a mini bib, youth-sized shirt, and a child-specific medal, with children able to participate in the dash for free without swag. Race day also includes free photos and finish-line treats.

Georgetown Half Marathon
SA DEZ 12
The Georgetown Half Marathon begins and ends near Georgetown Town Square in Georgetown, Texas. The event features a half marathon, along with 10K, 5K, and Kid's K races on the same day. This is a relatively new annual event, designed for a wide range of participants, not exclusively seasoned distance runners. The course winds through Georgetown’s historic districts and streets adjacent to the Texas Hill Country. The race emphasizes the town's character rather than a closed-off, stadium-like environment. Participants can enjoy the town square, local cuisine, poppies, and the historic atmosphere throughout the day. Families can participate via the shorter races and the kids' event.
Star of Texas Holiday Victory Lap: 50 Miler • 50K • Marathon • Half Marathon • 10K • 5K
SO DEZ 13
The Star of Texas Holiday Victory Lap is a winter race day at Pace Bend Park in Spicewood, Texas, offering distances from 5K up to 50 miles. Participants can select a 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, 50K, or 50 miler, all utilizing the same repeating paved loop. The marathon course is USATF-certified and serves as a Boston Qualifier, designed for runners aiming for even splits and a consistent rhythm over multiple laps. The loop measures 1.64 miles, meaning the marathon requires 16 laps, the half marathon 8, the 10K 4, and the 5K 2. The paved course features moderate climbs and gentle descents. This repeating layout allows runners to become familiar with the turns, gradients, and effort required as the race progresses. Each lap brings runners back past a personal aid station area, enabling supporters to see them frequently without extensive movement. The event employs chip timing with regular lap splits, and finishers are awarded a challenge coin and a medal. It is also noted as part of a larger winter series that includes the Advent Run to New Year Challenge and a winter marathon series.
Canyon of the Eagles 100: New Year’s Trail Challenge
FR JAN 1
Canyon of the Eagles 100: New Year’s Trail Challenge begins the year on Texas Hill Country trails at Canyon of the Eagles in Burnet, near Austin. This New Year’s Day trail race, organized by Fit Foundation, offers distances from a 5K run/walk up to THE EAGLE 100K ULTRA, alongside 10K, half marathon, 25K, and 50K options. The course follows limestone bluff trails overlooking the Colorado River, beginning on Ranch Road 2341 in Burnet. Ruck divisions are available at multiple distances, accommodating runners, walkers, ultrarunners, ruckers, and pacers for longer distances. The event embraces a straightforward New Year’s concept: begin with a finish rather than a resolution.
Bluebonnet Trail Run 50 Miler • 50K • Marathon • Half Marathon • 10K • 5K
SO MÄR 28
The Bluebonnet Trail Run takes place at Turkey Bend Recreation Area in Marble Falls, Texas, situated on Lake Travis's shores. The event offers a range of distances, from a 5K to a 50-mile ultra, including 10K, half marathon, marathon, and 50K options. This setup accommodates both short recreational runs and demanding ultra-marathon efforts. The longer race courses feature trail terrain with lake vistas, paths through woods, and meadows dotted with bluebonnets. The 5K is characterized as a moderately challenging trail course suitable for recreational runners. Camping is available at the recreation area, contributing to a weekend outdoor atmosphere rather than a brief race morning. The event benefits HKRS Cedar Park's youth running programs in the fall and spring.

FITCHICS: Evening Ride! Easy but hot!!!
