Trainings-Notizen aus Omaha

Omaha veranstaltet 14 10K-Läufe in 2026 innerhalb von 80 km vom Stadtzentrum — bevorstehende Termine, wiederkehrende Serien und andere Läufe in der Nähe, alles an einem Ort.

Die Leute hier sammeln ihre lockeren Kilometer am Lake Zorinsky, Standing Bear Lake, auf dem Keystone Trail, Big Papio Trail und West Papio Trail. Am Lake Zorinsky gibt's für Läufer eine 3-mile Ost-Runde und eine 4-mile West-Runde. Wenn du da ein paar Out-and-Backs dranhängst, werden aus vier schnell mal fünf oder sechs miles, ohne groß nachzudenken. Der Standing Bear Lake hat fast exakt eine 3-mile Runde, und im Chalco Hills Rec. Area findest du 4- und 6-mile Runden um den Lake Wehrspann. Der Omaha Running Club sorgt dafür, dass der Kalender immer voll ist. DUNDEE DASH 5K, Stampede 5k, The Cookie Mile, bRUNch5k und der Market to Market Relay Nebraska sind die großen Namen, die hier jeder kennt.

Radfahrer nutzen den Keystone Trail und Big Papio Trail für lockeres Z2. Wenn's ernster wird, geht's auf den West Papio Trail, Bellevue Loop Trail, Wabash Nature Trail und Council Bluffs Trail. Omaha Velo hält es entspannt, Harvest Racing ist eher auf Rennen aus, und OMG fährt von März bis November mittwochsabend gravel. Der Prairie Bloom Cycling Club hat Fahrer in Omaha, Lincoln und überall dazwischen. Dutch Hall ist unser Hügel-Spielplatz. Da gibt's die Lots of Dutch Hall Hills 1 mit 20.8 miles und Lots of Dutch Hall Hills 2 mit 22.5 miles. Glenwood Gravel Grinder, Biketober 2025 und die Louisville 50k und 100k Rides sind die Events, über die hier alle reden.

Von März bis November hat Omaha seinen besten Trainingsrhythmus, besonders für die OMG gravel rides und die steady base miles. Im Sommer sind die Wasserbrunnen am Lake Zorinsky wieder an, und die Leute hier starten trotzdem früh, wenn Intervalle oder lange Läufe anstehen. Die See-Runden sind immer noch super, wenn der Schatten knapp wird, und die Riverfront Trail miles entlang des Missouri River fühlen sich gut an, bevor der Tag so richtig heiß wird. Im Winter ändert sich eher die Kleidung als die Strecke. Die Dienstagsgruppe fährt das ganze Jahr durch, oft sogar in Jeans, wenn's kalt ist. Läufer nutzen weiterhin die Betonwege, solange es das Wetter zulässt.
