Der Topeka Turkey Trot ist ein Lauf von Fleet Feet, der am Thanksgiving-Morgen in Topeka, Kansas, über die Bühne geht. Angeboten werden ein 10K, ein 5K und ein Kids Turkey Trot 1K. Die längeren Distanzen starten früher, der Kinderlauf ist dann später am Vormittag dran. Als Laufstrecke ist die SE Croco Road vorgesehen, aber genaue Streckenpläne und weitere Details zum Veranstaltungsort werden noch finalisiert. Dieses Event geht schon ins zweite Jahr und soll dazu anregen, sich vor dem Festessen noch ein bisschen zu bewegen. Mit dabei sind Läufer, Walker, Familien, erfahrene Racer, Neulinge und Kinder, was es eher zu einem Community-Treffen macht als nur zu einem reinen Wettkampf. Beim Lauf geht es um Dankbarkeit, Gemeinschaft und darum, sich Hunger für den Kuchen danach zu holen.

The courses follow the river levee, extend into North Lawrence, and traverse the historic North Lawrence and Pinkney neighborhoods. Aid stations are positioned approximately every 1.5 to 2 miles. Awards are presented to overall winners, Masters and Super Masters, and the top three in each age category. Registration covers a race shirt and a participation award. Post-race refreshments feature an Irish breakfast from Johnny's North and the parade committee. Proceeds benefit Douglas County children's charities selected by the Lawrence St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee.

Club CAN Dash-Neurodiversity in Motion begins at 9:00 a.m. at Shawnee Mission Park, 7710 Renner Rd. in Shawnee, Kansas. The event features a 5K and a 1 Mile Run/Walk/Roll/Kids Run. The 5K is open to participants who wish to run, walk, or roll, not solely compete for time. This is a family-friendly spring event that benefits Club CAN, which stands for Community Appreciating Neurodiversity Inc. The shorter distance is open to ages 5 and up. Club CAN’s wider mission focuses on providing social opportunities for neurodivergent individuals from middle school through adulthood. Packet pick-up is available on race day before the start, and also on Thursday evening. Registration includes a t-shirt, with supplies guaranteed through early April. This is the first annual Club CAN Dash and includes an After Bash. The morning is designed around movement, fundraising, and spending time together after the race.

Der TopCity Half Marathon führt dich entlang dem Shunga trail und durch die TopCity neighborhoods in Kansas.
