The Lone Star Stampede is an annual running event in the Houston area, held in Sugar Land, Texas. It offers a 5K, 10K, Kids Dash, half marathon, and virtual participation for the main distances. The Texas Exes Houston Chapter hosts this event, welcoming runners, walkers, University of Texas alumni, families, and supporters of all fitness levels.
The race generates scholarship funds for Houston-area students attending The University of Texas at Austin. All finishers receive a Longhorn Stampede Texas belt buckle medal. Additional offerings include age-group awards, complimentary professional race photos, pre-race training runs, a technical shirt, a Longhorn Spirit Award for enthusiastic participants and observers, and a T-shirt design competition themed around the Lone Star Stampede name.
