The OCR World Championships are being held in Australia in May. This is the sole independent global championship for obstacle course racing, organized by Athletes First. Athletes have four primary race options: an 80-meter championship, a 3K championship, a 6K team relay, and a 15K championship.
The event features five distinct courses covering over nine miles of challenging terrain for the longer races, incorporating more than 40 obstacles. The obstacles are inspired by OCR events worldwide, presenting runners with a variety of grip, strength, speed, and technical challenges instead of a single, repetitive style. Participants receive a personalized bib and credential, a finisher shirt, a medal, an OCRCWC Hoo-rag, food at the finish line, and complimentary race photos. Those who successfully complete every obstacle receive a commemorative band. Elite finishers compete for podium medals, cash prizes, giveaways, and complimentary entries for future events. This edition is the first time the OCR Community World Championships are hosted in Australia.
