Sonnwendlauf Feldbach features a 2.5 km city circuit in Feldbach, Styria, which runners cover multiple times for the primary distances. This road race, held around the summer solstice, includes a 10 km Volkslauf, a shorter Hobbylauf, Nordic Walking, children’s and youth races, a four-person team relay, and a mixed relay walk. The 5 km and 10 km courses are AIMS-measured, and the 10 km Volkslauf is part of both the Austrian Volkslaufcup and the Steira-Straßenlaufcup.
The event's structure fosters a local-club atmosphere instead of a singular race focus. Serious road runners can utilize the measured course, while families, walkers, relay teams, and younger participants have distinct starts. The team relay divides the course into four 2.5 km segments, and the mixed walking relay involves two people completing two laps under race-walking rules; teams decide if the man or woman begins. Entry covers food, the youngest runners receive ice cream, and finishers U16 and older are awarded a large medal.
