Lauf rund um das Loosdorfer Gipfelkreuz is a short cross-country hill race in Loosdorf, centered on a climb to the Albrechtsberger summit cross, the highest point in the municipality. The main route is about 5.5 km long and gains roughly 150 meters, so it is not a flat road run; it is a compact effort on mixed ground for youth and adult runners, with autumn conditions often part of the setting.
The course first follows the Pielach river, runs through the Loosdorfer Au, and then climbs toward the summit cross before returning to the start by a different route. Runners encounter forest, hills, field paths, and trail sections in one lap, with views toward the Dunkelsteinerwald, the Alpine foothills, and the Danube Valley when the weather permits. After the high point, the way back is almost all downhill or flat, which makes the race a hard climb followed by a fast finish rather than an even-paced loop.
