Kids TRI-Triathlon

Mackay Aquatic & Recreation Centre in Ooralea contains this event within its grounds: swim, bike, run, all on familiar sporting fields instead of open roads. The Kids TRI-Triathlon is for young children trying swim-bike-run for the first time, with a clear guiding principle: "Our Tri-ActiV8 Kids Triathlon is all about inclusion and participation." It is non-competitive, easing nerves for beginners and their parents. The swim takes place in the 25m MARC pool. The bike leg remains within the secure MARC and University carparks, plus a private driveway. The run concludes on the "state of the art tartan running track," providing a fitting race-day finish without traffic concerns.
