Trail de la Soupe is a winter trail-running weekend held in La Roche-en-Ardenne, within Belgium's Wallonia region. Taking place in early December, it features forest and nature routes, with main distances of 12 km, 22 km, 30 km, and 45 km. The longer races are notably hilly: the 30 km involves approximately 1,200 metres of climbing, and the 45 km climbs about 2,110 metres. The event also contributes to the UTMB Index, attracting runners seeking a recorded trail result alongside those simply wanting a challenging Ardennes day out.
The courses traverse the wooded terrain surrounding La Roche-en-Ardenne, passing through or near castle sites, which complements the town's Ardennes character. Participants can compete on both Saturday and Sunday as the two days feature distinct courses. Saturday offers shorter options, while Sunday's distances extend up to 45 km. Registration is managed online via SQM Time; places may be limited, and early registrants receive a personalized race bib bearing their name.
