22. Weinbergslauf-Hochheim

The Weinbergslauf-Hochheim is a running event in Hochheim am Main, a town in Hesse’s Main-Taunus district, with races typically held in early September. TG Hochheim, a sports club founded in 1845, organizes it through a club with about 2,100 members and 11 departments. Runners can choose 6.1 km, 12.2 km, or a half marathon, and younger runners have their own Schülerlauf. The race is also part of the Süwag Energie Laufserie. The event has a local-club feel, not a big-city marathon setup. A pasta party is held on the evening before the race, volunteers and supporters are actively recruited, and Hochheim elementary school classes compete for the title of fastest class. The race maintains past results, certificates, and best-time lists, while its “Weinbergslauf T-shirt travels the world” campaign gives it a tradition beyond race day.
